About CHDO:

Community Housing Development Organizations are certified non-profits that produce affordable housing in partnership with the City. The City provides various forms of financing as grants and loans, including construction subsidy, gap financing, land acquisition and operating assistance. CHDO applications are accepted for prescreening throughout the year. Certifications will only be made in conjunction with funding awards In preparation for CHDO Certification, attached are the application and CHDO Manual for your review.

CHDO applications are in review and the below list will be updated as CHDO applications are approved.

Eligibility Requirements:

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and the City of Dallas have established standard criteria for organizations to be eligible. Please review the CHDO Manual to view the Regulatroy, City of Dallas, Organizational Structure, and Experience, Capacity, and Roles requirements before applying. 


How to Apply:

The City will accept applications from new CHDOs year-round. Complete the below application and supply all requested documentation.

CHDO CERTIFICATION APPLICATION




Operating Assistance:

HUD provided the City of Dallas a total of $150,00.00 in HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) funds for CHDOs operating assistance. Current certified CHDOs can apply for operating assistance which can be used for expenses from the time of execution of the contract through one fiscal year.
