Fair Oaks and Westmoreland transfer stations will be open to the public this Saturday from 7-9 a.m. only. The limited hours are neccesary to accomodate Sanitation collection vehicles
which will be operating a delayed Friday collection schedule due to this week's winter weather event.
The Post-Collection Operations Division of the Department of Sanitation Services manages McCommas Bluff Landfill, and three transfer stations strategically located across Dallas.
There is no charge for Dallas residents in passenger cars, station wagons, pickups, and trailers less than 15 feet long hauling their own waste from their residences to the landfill or a transfer station. A current, valid driver’s license is required for entry to these facilities, as well as proof of Dallas residency, which may be through a Dallas address on the driver's license or a current Dallas water bill.
