Tree Plantings

Tree plantings are required by City Code for new development, but what about the rest?  The Reforestation Fund comes from that new development.  Trees can be purchased from that fund to be planted on public land.  City departments, neighborhoods, civic groups and non-profits get these trees at no cost.

City of Dallas Urban Reforestation Program

Park and Recreation's Branching Out Dallas program chooses a minimum of twelve parks per year to plant new trees, Dallas Water Utilities plants trees in the Great Trinity Forest and Floodway Management Areas, while Public Works adds trees to empty medians every year.
