The City of Dallas has multiple ways to be alerted to emergencies, including the Dallas Alert Notification System and the Outdoor Warning System (OWS). Dallas Alert is a sign-up messaging system utilized to warn residents via phone, email, and text messaging. The OWS is intended to be heard outdoors and warns residents to head to safety inside and seek additional information from the local news.
