Page Content
As visitors and residents alike travel around Downtown Dallas, to Fair Park, and to Arlington to participate in the FIFA World Cup™ festivities, the City of Dallas Transportation and Public Works Department (TPW) has been hard at work to enhance connectivity and accessibility to help people travel via biking, walking, and micromobility. This webpage summarizes the special efforts going on this summer.

For more information about vehicular traffic and road closures, please visit Road Traffic Updates.

Mobility Lanes

TPW has established “preferred routes" featuring temporary quick build bike lane elements and roadway safety upgrades to increase walkability and bikeability in Downtown Dallas to connect to EBJ Union Station, Klyde Warren Park, the Dallas Farmers Market, and Fair Park. These routes help to connect existing bike lane infrastructure and special event activations during this summer:

North/South Route

This route features directional bike lanes for the majority of the route, connecting the existing bike lanes on Harwood St to Klyde Warren Park. Northbound traffic will use Olive Street between Pacific Ave and Flora St, then reconnect to Harwood St to reach Klyde Warren Park with a block-long two-way cycle track. Southbound riders from Klyde Warren Park will use Harwood Street for the entirety of the segment.

East/West Route

This route uses a combination of dedicated bike lanes and traffic calming features through shared spaces to connect Main Street from Houston St to the Santa Fe Trail. This route passes through the Better Block/Downtown Dallas Inc Activate Main Street project and through Deep Ellum. The route then uses the Santa Fe Trail spur to connect to Fan Fest at Fair Park, leading users down Perry Ave and into Fair Park to use 2nd Street as a biking/scooting space to connect to Fan Fest at Dos Equis Pavillion.

Dockless Vehicle Program Provisions

As riders look for ways to move around the city car-free, TPW has implemented special temporary regulations to serve users. For more information on the Dockless Vehicle Program, including contact information for operators and the program rules, visit: Dockless Vehicle Program.

Curfew Pilot

This pilot will run from June 15 to July 15, 2026 to temporarily extend the hours when users can start a new ride by one hour. See below for the normal and pilot hours of operation information. If the pilot is deemed successful, it may be considered for permanent implementation in the future.

New Sidewalk-Level Dockless Vehicle Parking Spaces

TPW has partnered with our dockless vehicle operators and Downtown Dallas Inc. to add new sidewalk-level parking spots to high-traffic and high-parking locations around Downtown Dallas. These new parking areas will be highlighted in each company's app and will help to increase proper parking compliance for users and keep sidewalks clear. There are 6 new parking spaces being added around Downtown, with more on the way. Special Temporary Zone Amendment

To support safe, comfortable travel to Fan Fest, dockless vehicles will temporarily be permitted to use the Santa Fe Trail between Elm St and Parry Ave. The vehicles will be limited to 10 mph and will not be able to be parked along the trail. Signage will direct users that they may not proceed northbound on the trail, and existing no-ride-zones will prevent the scooter from functioning in those unauthorized zones. This provision will be in place for the duration of Fan Fest from 6/11 to 7/19. View the section of the Santa Fe Trail available for Dockless Vehicle use on the Dallas Bike Facilities Application as part of the "Downtown Mobility Lanes" under "FIFA World Cup".
