Dallas' Stormwater Management Permit 

The City of Dallas is permitted by the State of Texas to discharge from the storm sewer system into local creeks,

streams, lakes, and the Trinity River. 


You can see what the City is doing to try to prevent pollution (the City Stormwater Management Program or "SWMP") by viewing the annual report.

Stormwater

Stormwater originates from percipitation(rainfall) and snow/ice melt. Stormwater can soak into the soil, be held on the surface and evaporate, or runoff and end up in our nearby streams, lakes and rivers.
