Council Members may recognize the people, programs, and events that make Dallas a vibrant city by issuing a special recognition. These ceremonial items must have a specific connection to Dallas, such as highlighting an event taking place in Dallas or honoring a Dallas resident.
Prior to submitting your request, please review the guidelines carefully to ensure that you are requesting the correct item and meet all the requirements. Requestors are asked to provide draft language for the ceremonial items and samples can be found below.

A special recognition is a formal document that extends recognition to a person or organization for an accomplishment or contribution to show appreciation for outstanding citizenry in the city of Dallas.
A letter of greeting, congratulations or reccommendation will be issued for souvenir booklets, conferences, conventions, and seminars or a significant anniversary, birthday, reunion or event. Pleaes provide draft language.
Notify the office at least two-weeks ahead of the date the letter is needed for an event or program.
