Please see the Dallas Development Code, Chapter 51A-4.209(3.1) for more details. No Certificate of Occupancy is required; however City Registration may be required in addition to State licensing.
City Registration and distance verification letter requests should be directed to the Department of Code Compliance at 214-670-1972.

Zoning Verification Letters

The Planning & Development Department can provide a letter stating the current zoning on any parcel within the City of Dallas, along with a copy of a portion of the zoning map showing the location of the property, and a copy of the regulations for that zoning district from Chapter 51A, the Dallas Development Code, of the Dallas City Code. Zoning Verification Letter requests can only be submitted through DallasNow.
