The Dallas Transportation & Public Works Department (TPW) is studying Military Parkway between Forney Road and Buckner Boulevard to create a plan for the segment that guides future improvements and funding.

Military Parkway is on the high-injury network in Dallas' Vision Zero Action Plan, which means it is among the city's most dangerous streets for all roadway users.

Project Scope

The study includes all forms of transportation and will identify and prioritize near- and long-term projects to enhance mobility and safety along the corridor. The study will also assess ways to improve access to schools, parks, and businesses.

Results will include a list of short- and long-term improvements that have been vetted by the community. The study kicked off in 2024.

Public Meeting

TPW held a virtual meeting on Monday, Aug. 3, 2026, to provide updates and discuss the vision for the Military Parkway corridor.
