​The Dallas Department of Transportation and Public Works hosts public meetings to provide information and gather public input on current and future initiatives that impact transportation planning, traffic safety and mobility in Dallas.

Past Meetings

Beacon/Graham Connections Project
TPW hosted a public meeting to discuss transportation connections along South Beacon Street and Graham Avenue from Columbia Avenue/Abrams Road to Samuell Blvd and East Grand Avenue on Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2024, at Samuell-Grand Recreation Center, 6200 E Grand Ave, Dallas, TX 75223. Residents gave input on alternative roadway configurations to enhance multimodal connections between Abrams Road, the Santa Fe Trail, and Samuell-Grand Park, as well as to slow vehicle speeds on the corridor. Public comments were accepted through Feb. 28, 2025.

Summer 2022 Bike Facility Implementation Meetings
TPW hosted two virtual public meetings to discuss three projects: 

Project 1: Bike lanes on Zang Blvd, and Shared Lane Markings on Eldorado Ave and Elsbeth St.
Project 2: Bike lanes on Akard St and Bike Lanes on Marilla St.
Project 3: Shared Lane Markings on Fisher Rd, Kenwood Ave, Santa Barbara Dr, Sperry St, and Williamson Rd. 

The meetings were held on July 27, 2022, and August 11, 2022 at 6:00 PM.

Union Bikeway Project
TPW hosted an online public meeting to discuss Union Bikeway, a federally funded bikeway project intended to connect the bike lanes on Houston Street and the Katy Trail to Klyde Warren Park. To incorporate Union Bikeway into the City's Thoroughfare Plan, multiple amendments were proposed.

The meeting was held online on December 8, 2020.

Jackson Street Bikeway Project
DDOT proposed a two-way, barrier-separated bike lane along Jackson Street in downtown Dallas that would connect Harwood Park with the AT&T Discovery District. A public meeting was held on March 26, 2024, at the J. Erik Jonsson Central Library.

Vernon Avenue Bike Lane Project Meeting
TPW hosted a virtual public meeting to seek feedback on the proposed design of separated bicycle lanes to be installed on Vernon Ave. The meeting presented the updated design, lessons learned from the pilot project, and gave residents an opportunity to provide input.

The meeting was held on August 25, 2021.

Commerce Street Delineated Bike Lanes Project
TPW hosted an online public meeting to discuss proposed West Commerce Street Bike Lanes, address safety concerns, and determine a path forward for installing bike lanes between Fort Worth Ave and Riverfront Blvd. This bicycle infrastructure connects west Dallas to the Trinity Park Trails.

Notifications were sent to inform residents of construction beginning on January 25, 2020.
