​ Texas Central plans to design, construct an operate a private high-speed passenger rail line between the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area and Houston Metropolitan Area. 

On August 24, 2016 Dallas City Council approved a Cooperation Agreement between the City of Dallas and Texas Central Partners​, LLC (Texas Central).The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate expedited review of this major private infrastructure project thro​ugh the necessary federal, state and local review processes, without any presumption of support by the City of Dallas at this point. 

As a part of this agreement, Texas Central committed to participate in City-hosted community awareness meetings regarding the proposed high speed rail project. The City-hosted meetings allow for Dallas citizens to learn more about the proposed project, ask questions and provide input. Several community meetings were held around the city to get community input.
