Texas Central plans to design, construct an operate a private high-speed passenger rail line between the Dallas-Fort Worth Metropolitan Area and Houston Metropolitan Area.
On August 24, 2016 Dallas City Council approved a Cooperation Agreement between the City of Dallas and Texas Central Partners, LLC (Texas Central). The purpose of this agreement is to facilitate expedited review of this major private infrastructure project through the necessary federal, state and local review processes, without any presumption of support by the City of Dallas at this point.
As a part of this agreement, Texas Central committed to participate in City-hosted community awareness meetings regarding the proposed high speed rail project. The City-hosted meetings allow for Dallas citizens to learn more about the proposed project, ask questions and provide input. Several community meetings were held around the city to get community input. For more information about the project, visit
Texas Central website.
