The City of Dallas regulations include a definition of short-term rental (STR) as a use and provision of allowable zones that STRs can be located in. These include MO(A), GO(A), multifamily, central area, mixed use, multiple commercial, and urban corridor districts.

Effective June 2023, Dallas City Council approved regulations for short-term rentals in Chapter 42B of the Dallas City Code.
