The South Dallas Cultural Center is a municipal, multi purpose arts facility located across from Fair Park in southern Dallas. The Center celebrates the creativity, vibrancy, and diversity of the African Diaspora.  By investing Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding, the City of Dallas has significantly improved the long-term accessibility, safety, and usability of South Dallas Cultural Center.

the bridge homeless recovery center

District 2

The Bridge Homeless Assistance Center is a countywide, multi service homeless recovery campus that delivers comprehensive, low barrier services to individuals experiencing homelessness in Dallas. Located in downtown Dallas, the facility serves as a centralized, collaboratively operated service hub, offering emergency shelter, basic needs, coordinated entry assessments, behavioral health and medical supports, and individualized case management.​

​​Bachman Lake

District 6

A project targeted sidewalk improvements in the Bachman Lake area focusing on streets like Clydedale and Kendale Drives. The initiative reconstructed sidewalks and installed barrier-free ramps to enhance accessibility and safety in residential neighborhoods identified as low-to-moderate income census tracts. Work included installing five-foot-wide reinforced concrete sidewalks, integral curbs, drive approaches, and slopedowns. All enhancements adhere to ADA compliance standards.

Bonton Farms

District 7

Bonton Farms is a comprehensive urban agriculture and community development initiative serving the Bonton neighborhood of South Dallas. Through food production, workforce development, supportive services, and neighborhood-focused investments, Bonton Farms addresses systemic barriers to health, economic mobility, and community stability.​

Joppa Community

District 7

This project involved street reconstruction on the 4600 block of Stokes Street and the 7600-7900 blocks of Hull Avenue within the Joppa community. It replaced deteriorated pavement, sidewalks, and ramps (meeting ADA standards) in this primarily low-to-moderate income residential area. Critical infrastructure upgrades also included replacing 1,350 linear feet each of aging 8-inch water and wastewater mains to enhance durability, accessibility, and utility services.

Jaipur Lofts

District 2

This project is a newly developed 71-unit mixed-income apartment community at 2102 Annex Ave in Old East Dallas. It offers one, two, and three-bedroom workforce housing units targeted to households earning between 30% and 80% of the Area Median Income, including 12 HOME-assisted units ensuring long-term affordability. Residents have access to amenities including a fitness center, cyber lounge, community kitchen, multipurpose room, and a fully furnished clubhouse with free WiFi.

Kiva East

District 2

Kiva East provides 87 units of new mixed-income housing, combining luxury affordable apartments with community amenities near downtown Dallas. Funded partly by HOME funds and Housing Tax Credits, the development offers modern one-to-three-bedroom units. Residents have access to a clubhouse, cyber lounge, playground, splash pad, and the adjacent Sante Fe Trail. A partnership with Bezos Academy also operates an on-site, Montessori-inspired childcare center for income-qualified students.

Five Mile Notre Dame Place

District 8

Five Mile Notre Dame Place is an affordable homeownership development featuring single-family residences in South Dallas. These homes, located on streets including Gooch, Kahn, Kemp, and Kemrock Drive, provide housing opportunities aimed at assisting low-to-moderate-income households. This initiative focuses on increasing stable homeownership within the community through newly constructed houses.

St. Jude Center

District 11

St. Jude Center Park Central is a repurposed hotel providing over 180 rooms of supportive housing for adults transitioning from homelessness in Dallas County. It blends permanent and transitional housing models with comprehensive wraparound case management services. Critical on-site medical, behavioral health, and food pantry services address residents' essential needs.

Marillac Community Center

District 6

The Marillac Community Center project executed essential rehabilitations and repurposed under-utilized areas into housing, common areas, and an emergency disaster-relief hub. Renovations support expanded services for low-income seniors, families, youth aging out of foster care, and individuals facing homelessness. The center now functions as an enhanced hub offering daily programs, food distribution, transitional housing, case management, and partner-provided health and resource services.

Austin Street Center 

District 7

The Austin Street Center for Community Engagement operates 24/7 as a 60,000 sq ft client-focused facility providing shelter and day services. It offers expanded capacity with 492 beds for unsheltered individuals and 30 respite care beds. On-site resources include a commercial kitchen producing over 900 meals daily, dining and engagement areas, and dedicated classroom space. Volunteer engagement is significant, supporting guest services, clothing distribution, and meal service operations.

The Galbraith

District 14

The Galbraith is a 15-story, mixed-income residential tower featuring 217 units adjacent to transit. This development integrates 106 market-rate apartments with 111 affordable units targeted to households at or below 80% AMI. The building offers amenities like a rooftop pool, fitness center, childcare facility, and business center. It also includes 10,000 sq ft of ground-floor retail space.
