Dr. Pepper Headquarters

5523 East Mockingbird Ln.

The Dr. Pepper National Headquarters Building, constructed in 1948, was located at Mockingbird Lane and Greenville Avenue. This building, which served as national headquarters for the oldest major soft drink in the country, was the symbol for post-war development and prosperity that became the foundation for the city’s growth for the next twenty years.

This building was a late example of the Art Moderne style. This architectural style was influenced by the new industrial design technology available in the 1930’s and 1940’s. Characterized by smooth wall surfaces, horizontal emphasis, flat roofs, use of glass block, aluminum windows and doors, large expanses of glass, and vertical elements as towers; the headquarters was a testament to mid-century design and grandeur.

Unfortunately, the building was demolished in 1997 after the plant was relocated.
