Dallas Landmarks (Local designation)

Structures located within the boundaries of a Dallas Landmark District or individually listed as a Dallas Landmark are protected by ordinances specifically written for that district or structure. State and National Historic Designations in Dallas

In addition to local Dallas Landmark Designation, a property can also be designated at the State and National level. A property can have one of these designations, a few of them, or all of them depending on the significance of the property or site.

Demolition Delay Overlay

​​The Demolition Delay Ordinance provides that a building that meets certain criteria within a demolition overlay district would be subject to a 45-day delay before a demolition permit could be granted.
