As established by the City Charter, the City Plan Commission (CPC) is responsible for making recommendations to the City Council regarding planning and zoning matters, and for administering Chapter 212 of the Texas Local Government Code regarding the platting and recording of subdivisions and additions. It is through this planning for and regulation of land development that the City Plan Commission achieves its land use planning objectives.
The City Plan Commission meetings will be held in person and by video conference. Individuals who wish to speak in accordance with the City Plan Commission Rules of Procedure should contact the Current Planning division at 214-670-4209 by the close of business Tuesday prior to the scheduled CPC Meeting date. The links below will direct you to the respective CPC meeting date to listen to the meeting and Public Affairs and Outreach will also stream the public hearing on Spectrum Cable Channel 96 and bit.ly/cityofdallastv.
Individuals must register to speak on cases during the public hearing.
The deadline to register for the January 20, 2022, City Plan Commission hearing is Tuesday, January 18, 2022, by 5:00 PM. No submissions will be accepted after the registration deadline.

City Plan Commission Committees
The Urban Design Committee (UDC) is an advisory body appointed by the City Plan Commission. UDC is made up of two City Plan Commissioners and five citizens. Click here to see the UDC Membership page. UDC is responsible for reviewing long range planning and area plans prior to the City Plan Commission consideration. The Plan Commission then makes a recommendation which is forwarded to City Council. UDC's meetings are open to the Public. Click here for more information on the UDC and upcoming meetings.
The Zoning Ordinance Advisory Committee (ZOAC) is an advisory body appointed by the City Plan Commission and is comprised of 3 Plan Commissioners and 5 citizens. ZOAC is responsible for reviewing potential amendments to the City's Development Code and making a recommendation to the City Plan Commission. The City Plan Commission then considers the proposed amendment and makes a recommendation which is forwarded to City Council. ZOAC's meetings are open to the Public.
