Scope and Content
Collection consists of eight hand-written manuscript documents regarding the installation regulation of telephone and telegraph services in the City of Dallas between 1881 and 1887. The items concern several issues, including requesting permission to erect telephone poles in the City of Dallas and amending an ordinance regulating telephone poles and wires. Internal reports and recommendations regarding telephone regulation in the City also exist.
Documents are from Southwestern Telephone and Telegraph, Erie Telephone and Telegraph, and American District Telegraph Companies between 1881 and 1890.
