Scope and Content
Prior to a formal city planning agency in the City of Dallas, property and land-related issues (excepting deeds and title transfers, a County function) were heard and adjudicated by standing committees which then made recommendations to the Mayor and governing board.
Collection consists of a single manuscript letter of petition to Mayor William L Cabell from EG Bauer, requesting the City of Dallas to prevent the planned enclosure of a parcel of land adjacent to Bauer’s property. The petition was referred to the Committee on Streets and Bridges on July 3, 1883. Disposition of the petition and request is unknown.
