Scope and Content
Collection contains land documentation for seven pieces of land granted by citizens to the City of Dallas.
The deeds of property sale include a legal description of the property, the names of the grantor (the citizen) and grantee (the City of Dallas), and language confirming the land's ownership change. Some Dallas citizens received payments from the Missouri, Texas, and Kansas Railway Company of Texas for selling portions of their land to the City of Dallas. Others received payment from the City of Dallas itself.
