​​​​​​The Office of Historic Preservation provides services related to historic districts, historic structures, and potential historic districts and structures. These services include Landmark (historic) Designation, Certificates of Appropriateness (approval forms for work on landmark structures), and administering tax incentive programs within Historic Districts and on individual Historic Structures. On Wednesday, April 10 Dallas City Council voted to adopt the Historic & Cultural Preservation Strategy!

The City of Dallas is committed to reducing racial disparities and assisting close-knit historically marginalized communities in preserving their history and culture. This Strategy introduces a vision and mission for the City’s enhanced historic and cultural preservation functions to serve as pillars that clarify the City’s purpose and role in preservation.
