In June 2024, Planning & Urban Design and Development Services combined to become Planning & Development.

  • Effective June 1, 2026: All commercial, residential, and multifamily projects must schedule plumbing and mechanical rough inspections together on the same day. Also, plumbing and mechanical final inspections must be scheduled together once the project is ready for final inspection.

    This requirement is being implemented to improve inspection efficiency, reduce duplicate site visits, and maximize available inspection resources. Due to current staffing shortages among plumbing and mechanical inspectors across all districts, coordinating these inspections will help ensure timely service and better allocation of inspection staff.
