Scope and Content
Collection consists of printed bond certificates and receipts, City of Dallas memoranda, bond authorization documents from State of Texas Attorney General William McGraw, and correspondence between the City of Dallas and the municipal bond firm of Chapman and Cutler, LLP of Chicago Illinois.
The City of Dallas periodically authorizes the sale of bonds to fund construction of facilities, streets and alleys, libraries, and parks. Between 1937 and 1940, the City employed Chapman and Cutler to sell bonds intended to fund projects for streets, library, and school construction and repair.
The bond election dates involving these Chapman and Cutler, LLP interactions occurred on
