Scope and Content
The Union Terminal Company was organized in 1912 for the purpose of providing a union passenger depot and passenger terminal facilities for the City of Dallas. A number of railway companies that operated in and around Dallas that joined the consortium included the Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railway Company of Texas, the Gulf, Colorado & Santa Fe Railway Company, the Trinity & Brazos Valley Railway Company, the Texas & Pacific Railway Company, the Houston & Texas Central Railroad Company, the St. Louis, San Francisco & Texas Railway Company, and the Chicago, Rock Island & Gulf Railway Company of Texas.
Collection contains primarily contracts between the railroad companies and the Union Terminal Company. The collection also contains ordinances, maps, blueprints of railway lines, and resolutions signed by Dallas Mayor Henry D. Lindsley.
Of special interest is a map of a proposed transfer between Texas & Pacific Railway and Missouri-Kansas-Texas Railway Company tracks dated October 2, 1890.
