Scope and Content
Collection consists of program allocation summaries of the bond financed capital improvements programs for the City of Dallas for the fiscal year 1972-1973.
To fund capital improvement projects such as library improvements and improvements to infrastructure, the citizens of the City of Dallas are periodically asked to authorize the city to issue and sell bonds to finance identified improvement needs. The 1972-1973 identified improvements included park and recreation facilities, street systems, waterworks systems and Dallas transit system improvements, among others.
A June 27, 1972 bond election was held to vote for fourteen capital improvement propositions totaling $172,000,000.00. All propositions passed. The canvass report is found in Council Action File Number 72-2237.
Organization
The collection is arranged chronologically.
