The Special Provision Sign District (SPSD) modifies sign regulations in designated areas to enhance, preserve, and develop their unique character and potential. A Certificate of Appropriateness (CA) is required for all signs in an SPSD, which involves an additional 2-3 month review process to evaluate the sign's aesthetics and appropriateness to the district. The review process includes at least two public meetings, requires a completed more extensive application, and a sign review fee of $345. Expedited review is available for some sign applications, depending on the size, location, and sign type.
