How do I request emergency services?

To request emergency water turn-off or to report a water meter leak, water main break, fire hydrant leak, clogged or overflowing wastewater main, call (214) 670-5111.

How do I establish new water or wastewater service at a property that is not already connected to the system?

Contact DWU's Permit Section at (214) 948-4500.

Why is my bill so high?

Your bill is based on how much water passes through your meter -- so whether it's used or wasted, you pay for every drop. That's why it is so important to use water wisely.

Why is my sewer (wastewater) bill higher than my water bill?

We are required by the state and the Environmental Protection Agency to clean wastewater before returning it to the environment. The dirtier water is, the more expensive it is to clean it. Wastewater is dirtier than water we take from our water supply lakes to clean for drinking purposes. Therefore, it costs more to clean wastewater than it does to clean lake water.
