Sanitation provides collection service via residential-size garbage and recycling roll carts only.  The Department does not provide dumpster or roll-off container service.  As this is an impractical option for most apartment properties and commercial establishments, owners or operators may elect services from a private solid waste hauler for dumpster and roll-off container collection services. 

Opting For Garbage and Recycling Service From Sanitation

Multi-family and commercial properties may receive service for up to 10 garbage and 10 recycling roll carts (subject to limitations). If roll cart service meets your commercial needs, contact 3-1-1 to establish an account with us.

Opting For Service By Private Waste and Recycling Haulers

Private waste haulers must hold a solid waste collection franchise, granted by ordinance adopted by the City Council, in order to operate in the city of Dallas. Private recycling haulers are required to hold a recycling collection service permit from Sanitation in order to operate in the city of Dallas.
